A BODY has been found in the desperate search for a missing woman after a bestselling author shared an appeal to find her.

Mum Vanessa Ford was last seen on doorbell footage near her East London home on Saturday.

Friends shared desperate appeals to find her – including bestselling author of The Hungover Games, Sophie Heawood.

But Met Police have today revealed a heartbreaking update, saying a body had been found in the search for Vanessa.

A statement said:"A woman was reported missing to the Met on the evening of Saturday, 23 September and a number of enquiries were undertaken to locate her.

"We have been made aware of an investigation by the British Transport Police following a death on tracks between Dalston Kingsland and Hackney Central on Saturday morning and are liaising with them.

It is understood that Vanessa had returned home from Manchester at 10am that morning.

She later changed clothes and left the house – with doorbell footage showing her strolling along the pavement near her home an hour later.

Doorbell footage shows her in a dark top and leggings in the Richmond Road area of Hackney at around 11am – close to where she lived.
