THIS is the moment Israeli troops launched a daring raid to rescue hostages captured by Hamas terrorists.

Footage shows the elite Yamas border police unit rescuing wounded soldiers and civilians while under heavy gunfire from the Palestinian militant group.

The heart-stopping video shows the armed troops jumping out of a truck as the ruthless Hamas terrorists fire an unrelenting barrage of bullets at the Israeli cops.

The footage shows what appears to be a body lying on the ground in a muddy pit as soldiers sprint through hail of gunshots.

The troops can then be seen opening a hatch and pulling out several soldiers.

Tanks can be seen rolling in during the frantic firefight.

Israeli Police confirmed that the tactical unit managed to rescue a number of wounded soldiers.

"Under heavy fire and while eliminating many terrorists in the area, the fighters of the undercover unit of the tactical brigade rescued the wounded soldiers and took them to receive medical treatment," police reportedly said.

The dramatic helmet cam footage was taken in Kibbutz Nir Am in southern Israel, near the city of Sderot, Israeli police said.

Nir Am is reportedly one of the few areas where Hamas terrorists tried to enter but were successfully pushed back.

Yamas is a highly trained anti-terror unit attached to the Israeli Border Police, tasked with counter-terrorism and warfare operations.

Hamas terrorists launched an all-out attack on Israel from land, air and sea with 5,000 rockets fired during the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was the deadliest assault in the country's 75-year history and has sparked days of bloody strikes and assaults.

More than 3,000 people have been killed on both sides since Hamas stormed the border and massacred hundreds in the surprise attack.

Following Hamas' threat to execute some of the 150 civilian hostages, Israel unleashed a relentless barrage of airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

The militants are now reportedly planning to post sickening footage of Israeli hostages after the terror group threatened a major rocket attack on the port city of Ashkelon.

On Monday, the armed wing of Hamas said it would begin executing one Israeli captive and broadcast footage for every civilian house bombed in Gaza without warning.

Israeli schools have sent a message to parents to immediately remove apps like TikTok and Instagram from their children's phones' so they won't come across graphic content.

Israel earlier urged civilians in Gaza to flee south to Egypt ahead of an all-out ground assault.

The Israeli army is gathering 173,000 troops – including 8,000 elite commandos – along with 300 tanks, artillery pieces and rocket launchers in border town Sderot.

A further 300,000 reserve troops have been readied ahead of the planned invasion.

The Israeli Defence Force has also reportedly begun laying mines as it blockades the Gaza Strip, cutting off food, water and electricity.

The US is also moving several warships – including USS Gerald Ford – and aircraft to the Mediterranean after Joe Biden pledged Washington's "rock solid" support to Tel Aviv.

Israel said it restored full control over the border and recovered the bodies of around 1,500 Hamas fighters.

The country's PM Benjamin Netanyahu has dubbed Hamas as worse than ISIS in a damning speech – and vowed to destroy them.

Netanyahu raged: "Children were executed and entire families were exterminated by Arab Terrorists.

"There were atrocities that I will not describe here. Hamas is ISIS and we will destroy it as the world defeated ISIS."

Netanyahu said Israel would launch a revenge attack on Hamas "like never before".

"At the end of the war, all our enemies will know it was a terrible mistake to attack Israel," he said.
