Trump: FBI agents 'riffled' through son Barron's 'living quarters'

Trump tears into FBI agents who ‘rifled’ through son Barron’s ‘living quarters’, claims ‘high crimes and treason’ were found on Hunter’s laptop and suggests Biden’s home should have been raided

  • Donald Trump posted on his app Truth Social on Labor Day morning
  • He continued a weeks-long series of attacks against the FBI and DOJ
  • It comes after federal agents raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Florida early last month, retrieving several sets of classified documents
  • Trump first claimed his teenage son Barron’s room was raided during a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Saturday night
  • A former federal prosecutor told MSNBC he believes the FBI would only go into Barron’s room if there was ‘any reason to look for records there’

Donald Trump fumed on Monday about FBI agents going through his teenage son Barron’s ‘living quarters’ during their search for classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

In a pair of Labor Day posts on his app Truth Social, the former president unleashed against the bureau for its ‘raid’ on his Florida mansion and called for feds to bust into President Joe Biden’s home.

Trump also claimed ‘high crimes and treason’ were found on a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, which has re-entered the news cycle in recent days after it was revealed the FBI’s warning about 2020 election misinformation led to Facebook censoring stories on its platform about the laptop at the time.

‘So they riffled(sp) through the living quarters of my 16 year old son, Barron, and the loved and respected former First Lady of the United States, Melania,’ Trump wrote on Monday morning.

‘But, despite proven high crimes and treason, and just plain common theft, all pointed out in the Laptop from Hell (and elsewhere), they never Raided or Broke Into the house of Hunter Biden or, perhaps even more importantly, the house of Joe Biden.’

He claimed without elaborating that the current president’s house is a ‘treasure trove.’

Trump added, ‘This is a Country that’s unfair and broken. We are truly a Nation in Decline!!!’

He raged on a short while later, this time taking aim at Biden’s handling of the United States as a whole.

‘The USA is rapidly becoming a Third World Nation. Crooked Elections, No Borders, a Weaponized Justice Department & FBI, record setting INFLATION, highest ever Energy Prices (and everything else), and all, including our Military is WOKE, WOKE, WOKE,’ Trump wrote.

‘Most dangerous time in the history of our Country!!!’

Trump has used his social media app to amplify verbal attacks and online criticism against the FBI and Justice Department ever since the unannounced search of Mar-a-Lago on August 8.

The former president and his allies claim both are being weaponized against Biden’s political rival.

In the weeks since it’s been revealed that Trump was in possession of a trove of apparently classified documents, some of which were kept informally in his desk drawers.

The FBI revealed that 11 boxes of classified material were among roughly 20 that were retrieved during the raid.

Trump hit out at the FBI on Truth Social on Monday morning and called on them to raid President Joe Biden’s home after similarly claiming his son’s ‘living quarters’ were searched during a Saturday night rally in Pennsylvania

He also tore into Biden’s handling of the United States as whole. Trump has amped up his attacks on the Biden administration and Justice Department in the wake of the raid

The National Archives and Justice Department have accused the ex-president and his legal team of slow-walking the return of those and other records that Trump improperly took from the White House at the end of his term in January 2021.

Trump first claimed the FBI searched his son’s room during a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Saturday night. It was his first time taking the stage since the raid.

‘They rifled through the first lady’s closet drawers, and everything else,’ the ex-president told his supporters. ‘And even did a deep and ugly search of the room of my 16-year-old son — leaving everything they touched in far different condition than it was when they started. Can you believe it?’

A former federal prosecutor told MSNBC on Sunday that the FBI would only go into Barron’s room if there was ‘any reason to look for records there.’

‘In other words, if Trump is storing boxes of classified documents or presidential records or other types of documents that could potentially be one or the other in the bedroom of Barron Trump then he should understand that that’s why the Justice Department is searching there,’ Renato Mariotti said the day after Trump first made his claim.

Meanwhile, an unnamed source told CNN last month that former First Lady Melania Trump was ‘annoyed’ that agents went through her bedroom and closet at Mar-a-Lago.

It was revealed in August that Trump is being investigated for violating federal laws including the Espionage Act.
