A mother was forced to fight off a man who tried to snatch her eight-year-old son in broad daylight.
The boy was walking to school in Yeovil, Somerset, with his mother who also had another child in a pushchair.
The man pulled up in his ‘dirty white estate with tinted rear windows’ alongside the family on Cedar Grove – where the average price of a property is £287,500 – just before 8am on Monday.
He then got out of the driver’s seat and attempted to snatch the boy from his mother as she desperately held on.
As she heroically stopped her child from being abducted, the mother began shouting before the man made off in the car towards Preston Road.

‘No further incidents have been reported, but please do contact your neighbourhood officers with any concerns.’
Police are calling on any witnesses or for anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
The man has been described as being in his 30s, about 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build with broad shoulders.
Police said he had olive brown skin, dark-coloured hair in a quiff style and a beard.
