Meghan and Prince Harry release their sparkling ‘paper-free’ ‘holiday season’ card that includes a picture of them on night they won award for ‘fighting racism’ – but does NOT mention Christmas

• Harry and Meghan wished everyone ‘health, peace and a very happy new year’

Harry and Meghan’s ‘paper free’ ‘holiday season’ card features a glitzy black-and-white photo from the night they received an award for opposing ‘structural racism’ in the Royal Family but fails to include any mention of Christmas.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their annual festive message, wishing everyone ‘health, peace, and a very happy new year’.

The digital e-card is signed off using their royal titles- despite calls in recent days for the pair to be stripped of them after their bombshell Netflix documentary.

But it omits any mention of ‘Christmas’, instead wishing everyone a ‘joyful holiday season’.

Harry and Meghan’s ‘paper free’ ‘holiday season’ card features a glitzy black-and-white photo from the night they received an award for opposing ‘structural racism’ in the Royal Family 

The card reads: ‘Wishing you a joyful holiday season.

‘From our family to yours, and on behalf of our teams at The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio, and Archewell Productions, we wish you health, peace, and a very happy new year.’

The GIF, which has glimmering white dots, was shared on Twitter by royal author Omid Scobie, who called it their ‘paper-free 2022 Christmas card’.

It includes a photo showing Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, on December 7 as they were honoured with the Ripple of Hope award for their stance against racism.

At the awards ceremony in New York they vowed their war against ‘oppression’ has only just begun as they were given the award by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organisation.

Meghan also talked about her struggle with suicidal thoughts while a royal, telling the audience she ‘didn’t want to be alive anymore’ and revealing that the decision not to end her life ‘wasn’t easy’, in remarks echoing those made during her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The release of Harry and Meghan’s ‘holiday season’ GIF comes just a few days after the Prince and Princess of Wales released their own Christmas card, with a picture of Kate and William walking hand-in-hand with their three children in the grounds of the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

It also comes amid growing tensions within the Royal Family after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the second ‘volume’ of their Netflix documentary on Thursday.

In this week’s instalment of the docu-series, Harry and Meghan accused Prince William of yelling and King Charles of lying when they refused to bless the couple’s request for a ‘half in half out’ Megxit that would allow them to earn a fortune while picking and choosing royal duties and keeping all their titles.

The Duke of Sussex alleged his older brother, now heir to the throne, scared him in January 2020 while he ‘screamed and shouted’ at him in front of his father and grandmother when he tried to thrash out a deal to leave the UK.

The release of Harry and Meghan’s ‘holiday season’ card comes amid growing tensions within the Royal Family after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the second ‘volume’ of their Netflix documentary on Thursday

Harry also accused Charles of telling untruths to his face and Her Majesty of saying nothing at the now infamous ‘Sandringham Summit’, and told of the ‘heartbreaking’ rift with his brother. 

He said: ‘It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true. And my grandmother, you know, quietly sit there and take it all in’.

The Duke of Sussex claimed: ‘I went in with the same proposal that we’d already made publicly, but once I got there I was given five options – one being all in, no change, five being all out. I chose option three in the meeting – half in, half out. Have our own jobs but also work in support of the Queen. It became very clear very quickly that goal was not up for discussion or debate’.

Harry then claimed the Palace did not seek his permission to put out a joint statement denying claims William ‘bullied’ the Sussexes out of the Royal Family. Viewers said that Harry was implying that William did.

He said: ‘I couldn’t believe it. No one had asked me permission to put my name to a statement like that… [Meghan] burst into floods of tears, because within four hours they were happy to lie to protect my brother… and yet they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.’
