Pam and Karl Bacon, appeared in court, and a prepared statement for Latunski was read on their behalf.
‘In your sick, twisted mind, you probably don’t think you did anything wrong,’ Hannah, Bacon’s mother, wrote. ‘This Christmas, I hope you suffer like we have.’
Karl, who filed the missing person report for Kevin when he didn’t show up to Christmas breakfast, previously said that he wants Latunski to rot in prison.
Bacon, who was a University of Michigan-Flint student and hairstylist, was found by police hanging by his ankles from the rafters of Latunski’s home with a stab wound in his back and sliced throat.
Latunkski confessed to his crimes in front of prosecutors in September, including the events that led to Bacon’s death and the inhumane acts that occurred after when he ate a piece of his genitals.
‘Did you use a knife to stab Mr. Bacon’ a prosecutor asked Latunski in September. ‘Did you know that stabbing Mr. Bacon with a knife would most certainly create a very high risk of death or great bodily harm to Mr. Bacon?’
To which Latunski responded: ‘Yes, I did.’
The cannibal admitted to have stabbed Bacon in the back and later cutting off his testicles and eating them in the kitchen.
Latunski’s defense previously attempted to deem him mentally unfit to stand trial after undergoing months of psychiatric care at a hospital in Michigan, ABC 12 reported.

Latunski had several encounters with police leading up to Bacon’s death, including a few months before in October 2019, when a New York man called 911 after allegedly waking up in the cannibal’s basement.
The New York man had gotten away and 911 calls obtained by The Flint Journal-MLive reveal the plea for help.
‘I want you to know like I’ve never ever had anything like this happen. I don’t know if he drugged me. All is know is I ended up locked up in the f***ing basement, okay? Chained in the basement,’ the New York man said.
It is unclear what occurred in this instance, but a month later police received another call about a different victim.
Latunski had several encounters with police prior to his arrest for Bacon’s death but was never charged
The call came in on November 25, 2019. At the time, the man told police he had escaped Latunski’s house and feared he was going to be held against his will and chained up in his basement.
‘I’m trying to get away from some creepy guy,’ the caller told the dispatcher. ‘He had me tied in his basement.’
On two separate occasions before Bacon’s death, men had escaped Latunski’s house
Michael Parks, a neighbor of Latunski, ran into the unidentified victim while out on his front porch, according to Fox 2.
The victim was covered in blood and had knocked on Parks door while attempting to escape Latunski.
‘He’s got purple hair, he’s wearing a leather skirt and he’s got a couple of belts across his chest,’ Park said. ‘This gentleman is grasping my arm with deathly fear [screaming] ‘help me, keep him away’ just screaming at the top of his lungs ‘he wants to hurt me, he wants to hurt me.’
‘Another vehicle pulls in my driveway and out comes, who I now find out is Mark, wearing a leather skirt, belts across his chest, no shoes, no shirt on, his beard is braided… very odd-looking gentleman.’
Police had stopped Latunski, who was wearing nothing but a kilt, during the chase but no charges were filed.
Latunski’s torture home was later sold in February 2020 to a women seeking to use it as a rental house.
The home sold for $101,733.28 – $21,000 more than the asking price.
Records previously found that Latunski was married to a woman named Emily, whom he had two kids with.
Emily had filed to suspend Latunski’s visitation rights on August 22, 2019 and cited his diagnosis with major depression, paranoid schizophrenia and traits of a personality disorder in 2010 and 2012.
‘[Mark Latunski] has a history of mental illness and has been hospitalized in the Owosso Mental Stress unit … [and] has a history of going off his medication,’ the motion filed by Emily in 2019 stated.
According to court records, Latunski also stopped taking his medication to treat his mental illnesses.
Latunski was also married to his ex-husband Jamie Arnold for three years before leaving him in September 2019.
Arnold previously told M-Live that he wasn’t aware Latunski had a mental illness until July 2019 when he was arrested for not paying child support.
‘To my knowledge, I couldn’t force him to see a therapist or take medication,’ Arnold said. ‘Never in a million years did I think he’d be capable of doing such a horrendous crime.’
