In the latest hacking attempt, the Bitkeep wallet was recently exploited by a hacker, resulting in the wallet losing nearly $1 million worth of crypto funds.

The Bitkeep wallet is the latest victim of an online hacking attempt that resulted in the wallet losing nearly $1 million worth of funds. According to the blockchain security firm PeckShield, the attacker reportedly manipulated the swap feature of the wallet to drain the funds out of the protocol.

Later on, Bitkeep updated its users via Twitter, adding that the wallet had indeed suffered a massive exploit. The wallet’s team further shared that the hacking attempt was made on the BNB chain and that its development team had managed to stop the hacker.

Dear BitKeep Swap user, BitKeep Swap was hacked, and our development team has managed to contain the emergency. The hacker has been stopped. The attack happened on BNB Chain, causing a loss of about $1 million.

The wallet’s team, later on, provided a list of comprehensive restrictive measures to further protect its users from getting their funds stolen. The platform informed its users that its development team would immediately suspend the swap feature on its platform, followed by establishing contact with security agencies to investigate the hacking incident and recover the stolen funds.

Bitkeep will also be reimbursing the stolen amount back to its users. A detailed plan outlining the reimbursement plan will be later shared by the Wallets team. The platform will also reward users who help its team identify potential culprits involved in the latest hacking attempt.
