A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a dad was found dying just yards from his home surrounded by a group of men.
The dad – who was in his fifties – was said to have been on his way home from the pub when a brutal fight broke out in High Wycombe, Bucks.
Police who were on patrol found the man fighting for his life outside of a petrol station just after midnight.
When officers rushed to save him, the group of men he was fighting with fled the scene after seeing flashing blue lights.
Cops then tried to give him CPR before medics arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly afterwards, officers arrested a 25-year-old man from High Wycombe on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.
A second man, aged 27 and also from High Wycombe, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night and is still in police custody.
Family and friends gathered at the petrol station when he died, which is believed to be just a few hundred yards from his family home.
One woman told The Sun: “We are grieving.”
Another added: “It happened by the petrol station. I heard he had been stabbed. It must be terrible for his family.”
'TROUBLE IN A PUB'
One neighbour said: “I was told there was trouble in a pub and trouble spilled out down the hill. It looks like he nearly made it home.”
Police said today his next of kin have been informed and that one man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A cordon remained in place at the scene while forensics officers searched bushes close to the petrol station.
Detective Superintendent Ailsa Kent who is leading the hunt for his killers said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time. The family is being supported by Family Liaison Officers.
“When the police officers discovered the victim, he was surrounded by a group of males, who fled the scene when the officers approached in their police vehicle with its blue lights illuminated.
“We would urge any of the males who were at the scene to contact the police as soon as possible, as they may have vital information that can assist our investigation.
“We have arrested one man on suspicion of murder. He is in police custody at this time.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Micklefield Road and Hicks Farm Rise in the early hours of this morning, who saw or heard anything to come forward.
“If you have any footage, whether dash-cam, CCTV, mobile phone or doorbell camera, please retain this footage and contact the police.

She added: “We apologise to residents for any inconvenience this may cause, but the area has been closed in order for us to carrying out vital examinations and enquiries.

“I thank the public for their understanding and support while we carry our investigation.”
