Kamala Harris hosts party for her team at Naval Observatory after claims VP's staffers are 'treated like s**t'

KAMALA Harris threw a party for her team at her Naval Observatory home following anonymous claims from her staffers that they are "treated like s**t."

Harris' party on Thursday came after 22 unnamed sources from inside her team spilled to Politico in a bombshell article about the "abusive environment" at her office.

"People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” said one source.

"It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s**t.”

Harris and first gentleman Doug Emhoff hosted the party at their official home in Washington, near the Naval Observatory.

The event took place the week after Fourth of July, and featured an all-American theme, with red checkered tablecloths, burgers, and barbecue.

Harris' senior advisor Symone Sanders tweeted following of the event: "Let me tell you about these burgers at the VP's residence!! The food was good and the people were amazing."

Sanders defended Harris in the anonymous article, branding staffers who criticized her "cowards."

“We are not making rainbows and bunnies all day. Whoever has something they would like to raise, they should raise it directly," she said.

"Vice President Harris is focused on the work, not the chatter at the water cooler."

One anonymous friend of Harris complained after reaching out to her chief of staff Tina Flournoy on behalf of a top Democratic party donor and not hearing back for weeks.

"This is someone who has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars—millions, even—for your boss and you’re just blowing them off?" the friend said.

“Next time Kamala wants [them] for something, it’s like, ‘Hey, I couldn’t even get a call-back from your chief of staff!’”

Some staffers stood behind Harris, calling her “the most perceptive person on the planet."

“She might not have first-hand knowledge, but it’s hard to imagine she doesn’t have a sense of what’s going on.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki also brushed off the stories of trouble in the VP's office last week.

"I will say that the vice president is an incredibly important partner to the President of the United States," Psaki said.

"She has a challenging job, a hard job, and she has a great supportive team of people around her.

"But other than that, I'm not going to have any more comments on those reports."
