Frankische plant shooting sees 'ex-employee gun down two staffers before killing themselves' in horror rampageApril 6, 2022
THREE people were shot at an industrial plant in South Carolina Tuesday, leaving one person dead.
The incident occurred just after 10:30pm at the FRÄNKISCHE plant, said the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene moments later, working to secure the area.
According to deputies, the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound before authorities were able to take them into custody.
The shooter was a former employee of the plant, said police.
Two people were taken to a local hospital. One of the victims is in critical condition, according to the coroner.
Employees at the plant ran to the Typsy Tavern Bar & Grill across the street in an attempt to seek shelter from the incident, said Sheriff Chad McBride.
There is currently no motive for the shooting, but McBride said authorities have heard some theories and will have to "sort through that."
The Coroner’s Office, The Anderson Police Department, Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol are all at the scene.
In a press conference, McBride said that he believes the area is safe as the shooting as an "isolated incident."
