Driver repeatedly SLAPS another motorist after car smash that left both vehicles in a mangled mess

  • Video of the altercation was filmed after the crash in East Dulwich, south London
  • The footage starts by showing the mangled wreckage of two cars after the crash
  • One driver appears to confront the other before shouting and hitting his face
  • Witnesses look on and try to calm the aggressor down after the crash on July 29

Shocking footage shows the moment a driver repeatedly hits another motorist around the face following a car smash that wrote off both vehicles.

The mangled wreckage of the two cars can be seen in the video lying at the side of the road.

As he tries to get out of the remains of his car, another apparent motorist approaches and repeatedly slaps him.

He can also be heard demanding money for his ruined vehicle from the other man.

The disturbing footage opens with a clear shot of the wreckage of both vehicles on the pavement in East Dulwich, south London.

Oil and petrol can be seen pouring from underneath the cars following the hefty collision on a main road outside a pub.

The video shows one man approach another in his car and angrily shouting at him.

Passers-by shout ‘What are you doing?’ and ‘Calm down’ as he tries to rip open the driver’s door of one of the smashed motors.

Video of the altercation showed the wrecks of two cars after the crash (left), which is understood to have happened on July 29 on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, south London, before the man approaches and hits the man in the face (right)

The aggressor shouts ‘I’ll smash your head in bro’ but the other driver looks shocked and dazed and can barely speak.

As the man inside one of the cars, who doesn’t seem to speak English, tries to explain what happened, he takes blow after blow from another man during the fracas, which is thought to have happened on the evening of July 29 on Lordship Lane.

‘Shutup! You broke my car! I want some money now! I want some money now! For my mirror! For my mirror!’ one of the men screams, raining blows on the dazed driver.

It is not clear exactly how he was involved, but the assault is a crime in itself.

Motorists involved in crashes should not fight but instead should switch off their engines and make sure everyone at the scene is alright.

The AA advises: ‘Check for any injuries to yourself or your passengers.

‘If it’s a minor collision and there are no injuries, make a note of it just in case the other people later try to claim for an injury.

‘Call the police and an ambulance immediately if anyone is hurt or if the road is blocked.

Other people tried to calm the man but he approached the other car and hit the driver around the face

‘Try to remain as calm as possible – its normal to be shaken after an accident, take a few deep breaths and try to take stock of the situation the best you can. And don’t lose your temper.

‘Don’t apologise or admit responsibility for the accident until you’re completely aware of what happened – this can protect you from liability if it wasn’t your fault.’

After the footage was posted to Twitter, people were horrified by what they saw.

One said: ‘Why’s nobody stopping the guy from slapping him ffs.’

Another said: ‘Fatboy was angry.’

And another added: ‘Gunna get in more trouble for punching him.’

The Met Police have been contacted for comment.
