Brian Laundrie sleuths stunned as dad Chris laughs with FBI agent who looks EXACTLY like fugitive son during searchOctober 9, 2021
BRIAN Laundrie's dad Chris is seen in a shock new photo laughing with an FBI agent who looks exactly like his missing fugitive son, leaving online sleuths stunned.
The image was taken on Thursday, as Chris, 62, helped with the search for Brian in the vast 24,000-acre Carlton Reserve in Florida.
Brian Laundrie, 23, is currently a person of interest for authorities, after his fiancee, Gabby Petito, 22, was found dead in a Wyoming campsite last month.
The couple's case has gripped the nation over recent weeks, with online sleuths circulating far-reaching theories about the whereabouts of Laundrie, whose parents reported him missing on September 17, two days before Petito's body was discovered.
After being pictured chatting with the agent on Thursday – and the series of comparisons by social media users, who pointed out the likeness between the agent and Laudrie's son, that followed – Chris reportedly did not return to help with the search on Friday.
Brian and Gabby were in the middle of a four-month-long trip across America when Laundrie returned to his parents' Florida home alone on September 1, driving the couple's 2012 white Ford Transit van.
Petito was reported missing by her parents on September 11, and her body was later discovered in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
On Friday, a report claimed law enforcement officials had said they did "everything they could" to keep an eye on Laundrie before his disappearance last month.
But online sleuths were not happy with this response, pointing out how authorities said they knew where Laundrie was days after he reportedly went missing.
Evan Donovan, a reporter with WFLA News in Florida, tweeted that at a September 16 news conference, a reporter asked authorities: "Do you know where Brian Laundrie is right now?"

According to Donovan's recollection, the North Port Police Chief answered, "Yes."
However, a day after the chief's reported comments, Laundrie's family told cops he had been missing since earlier that week.
PERSON OF INTEREST
The Laundries reportedly told authorities that Brian went on a hike on September 13 and never returned.
Donovan's tweet received a series of replies from users slamming the cops' approach, with some claiming they "let him get away."
On Thursday, police spokesperson Josh Taylor had told CNN’s Randi Kaye that police in North Port, Florida, were surveilling Laundrie as best as they legally could before he vanished.
Laundrie has since been declared a person of interest by police as they investigate the circumstances behind Gabby's disappearance.
The 23-year-old has not been named as a suspect.
On September 23, the FBI issued an arrest warrant for Laundrie after he "knowingly and with intent to defraud" used a bank card that was later revealed to be Petito's.
Following Laundrie's disappearance, authorities focused their search on an area of Florida swampland.
