Refinitiv Invests in ModuleQ and its Intelligent AppMarch 25, 2020
Technology provider Refinitiv deepens its partnership between ModuleQ and Refinitiv data and tools to provide proactive, workflow-relevant content to professional services users in Microsoft teams, the company announced today.
The firm invested in and entered a strategic partnership agreement with ModuleQ.
ModuleQ is a Microsoft partner for Office 365 and Microsoft Teams. Its intelligent app predicts users’ current priorities while working in Microsoft Teams to deliver timely and relevant content, news and analytics.
The partnership will help provide proactive, mission-critical business information to professionals across industries.
Refinitiv and ModuleQ have collaborated since 2018, using their machine learning and analytics capabilities to provide proactive insights via the ModuleQ app by leveraging Refinitiv Intelligent Tagging and Refinitiv Knowledge Graph.
Though this collaboration, the companies plan to continue to integrate select Refinitiv content, enabling the ModuleQ app to extract important business insights related to the fast-changing priorities of individual professional users.
“The difference between winning and losing a customer or a deal for an advisor, particularly in these markets and working virtually, is being first with news and unique insights that are most relevant”, says Ben Sheperd, Chief Strategy and innovation Officer at Refinitiv.
“With ModuleQ, we look forward to getting our data and tools to customers where they work, as they need it in fast-growing Microsoft Teams. We see great possibilities for customers in deepening our partnership with David and his team at ModuleQ”, he adds.
David Brunner, CEO at ModuleQ, says that this investment by Refinitiv is the realisation of using AI to surface the information professionals need before they know it’s even available.
He believes that companies are looking to Microsoft Teams to make them work smarter and that ModuleQ’s AI makes that even easier.
ModuleQ’s Personal Data Fusion TM AI is based on data fusion technology. The Microsoft partner’s enterprise solution is delivered as a virtual application within a customer’s secure instance of Microsoft Azure and behind the customer firewall.
Refinitiv machine learning solutions help to power the Q application and are compromised of Refinitiv Intelligent Tagging, which uses natural language processing (NLP), text analytics and data-mining technologies. This is to derive meaning from large amounts of unstructured content, including news articles, and Refinitiv Knowledge Graph, a linked data feed of the Refinitiv financial content sets.
The financial content sets come with a pre-indentified set of relationships helping customers to uncover previously undetected connections with and across data sets.
