The National Tourist Board of Germany (GNTB) announced that it will start accepting crypto currency as payments for services provided. The agency also wants to implement the Blockchain technology in order to better control the financial component.

GNTB is not the first tourist organization that accepts crypto currency as a means of payment. Some airlines already accept payments in the digital currency of Bitcoin, among them: Peach Aviator from Japan, Fair Taiwan and Star Jets International. In addition, Brisbane Airport became the first airport that favorably treats the crypto currency.

Chairman of the National Council for Tourism of Germany Petra Hedorfer commented on this initiative:

"In our strategy, we constantly study the latest technologies and consider the possibilities of their application in our organization. Defining the Crypto currency as a payment method and the possible implementation of Blockchain technology, we want to position ourselves as an innovative organization in the tourism industry. "
