Adidas NY Collection To Be Debuted At US OpenAugust 16, 2019
A new range of high-performance apparel from Adidas will make its debut at the US Open this month.
Designed in collaboration with the Brooklyn Creator Farm, the NY collection is inspired by the streets of New York City and urban tennis culture, the sportswear giant said after launching the exclusive collection.
Leading players like Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza, Caroline Wozniacki, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev can be seen in action at Flushing Meadows wearing the new Adidas jersey.
The US Open, the final Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season, is set to kick start on August 26 in New York.
Crafted from recycled polyester, the comforting features of the collection include Climalite technology, which uses ultra-breathable moisture-wicking fabrics to keep athletes cool and dry in even the most intense heat.
In the men’s collection, Lucas Pouille, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev will wear the NY Printed T-shirt, featuring a stand-out glitch style print inspired by the streets of New York City.
Dominic Thiem will wear the NY Polo with a modern 3 button placket and a flat knit collar in the vibrant glow green color way.
Alexander Zverev will wear the NY Solid Short, which is designed to give the player better freedom of movement.
Other male players will wear the NY Melange Short which has a premium elasticated waistband and an exposed draw-cord for adjustability.
In the women’s section, Garbine Muguruza and Kiki Mladenovic will wear the NY Dress.
Caroline Wozniacki will wear the NY Tank, which features an open hole mesh overlay for a stylish layering look.
Angelique Kerber will wear the NY Women’s T-shirt, featuring open hole mesh zoning at the back to provide optimal ventilation.
All the other Adidas female tennis stars will wear the NY Women’s Short with open hole mesh zoning at the back for additional ventilation.
Players at this year’s US open will be treading the hard court using the SoleCourt shoe, which Adidas described as its “ultimate technical performance footwear.”
